Functions & Responsibilities
FUNCTIONS OF WGC/ICC
- Investigating reported cases of acts of sexual harassment of girl students and women faculty, if any, and taking necessary action.
- Providing information regarding counseling and support services on the campus.
- Promoting awareness about sexual harassment through educational initiatives that encourages and fosters a respectful and safe campus environment.
- Holding regular quarterly meetings even if there are no complaints.
- Organizing various workshops, seminars and conferences to acquaint women regarding their rights.
- Ensuring fair and timely resolution of sexual harassment complaints.
RESPONSIBILITIES OF WGC/ICC AS CONVENER
- To conduct meetings with the faculty members and student members to discuss various events to be organized before the commencement of new academic year.
- To identify potential education and professional development activities and inform and educate the same to girl students and female faculty.
- To maintain the minutes of the meetings and submit the copy of the same to the Principal.
- To encourage the members to conduct programs on Women Empowerment.
- To ensure that no act or incident related to sexual abuse or sexual harassment on the campus reported is ignored.
RESPONSIBILITIES OF WGC/ICC AS FACULTY MEMBER
- To monitor and counsel girl students of their department, in the case of requirement.
- To bring awareness among girl students about government support services and college support services.
- To conduct competitions such as presentations, elocution, essay writing and painting to encourage girls to express their ideas.
- To ensure that the students feel free to discuss issues of abuse or harassment.
- To go to the roots of the harassments faced by students and sort out the matter harmoniously.
RESPONSIBILITIES OF WGC/ICC AS STUDENT MEMBER
- To spread the objectives of ICC among the girl students.
- To participate actively in the events and competitions organized by the cell and encourage other girl students to participate.
- To interact regularly with the girl students of the class.
- To bring to the notice of the faculty representative of their respective department, if any gender specific issue arises among the girl students.
Grievances & Redressal Mechanism
Procedure for receiving Complaints/Grievances: Initially a general orientation/awareness programme is conducted to make students aware of the process and mechanism of Complaints/Grievances and Redressal Mechanisms.
Complaints/Greivance
- Suggestion boxes placed on the first floor are opened once in a fortnight in the presence of at least any two members of the committee (mostly one will be the Convener).
- Can approach the committee members.
- Can approach the HoD/ the Principal.

Redressal Mechanism
- After knowing the grievance, the convener discusses it with the respective ICC Coordinators and H.o.D and then an appropriate solution is found out. If not solved at this level, the grievance is taken up to the Principal.
- If not solved even at this level, the committee shall take appropriate decision after discussing the issue thoroughly.
